Chamber Presents Gifts to Officials from the Republic of Georgia

Last Tuesday, August 1, the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard and Vice President of the United States Mike Pence welcomed leaders from the Republic of Georgia at a ceremony acknowledging the commitment to friendship between Georgia and the U.S. . The President of the Republic of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and his Defense Minister Levan Izoria each received a gift box with a scene of Savannah and containing River Street Sweets taffy at the event held at Tbilisi International Airport, Tbilisi, Georgia. The boxes were given by Bill Hubbard, President of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, as a courtesy in recognizing the special relationship that the Republic of Georgia and Savannah have with the military of the Republic of Georgia. Minister Izoria accepted his gift with members of the 165th AW, pictured here (photo by Capt. Katie Parker).
