Community and Military Leaders Unite at Fort Stewart to Enhance Support for Service Members

Last week, Mrs. Sharene Brown, spouse of U.S. Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, hosted a productive working lunch at Fort Stewart with key community leaders from Savannah and Hinesville/Liberty County. Among the attendees was Jared Downs, Vice President of the Savannah Chamber, who represented the business community in the Savannah area.

The roundtable discussion, led by Mrs. Brown, centered on critical issues affecting the military community and explored how local businesses and governments can collaborate to better support soldiers and their families. Key topics included workforce development, childcare options both on and off post, education, emergency assistance, and military family support.

This initiative highlights the importance of partnership between the military and local communities in fostering a supportive environment for our service members and their families. The insights shared during this gathering will inform ongoing efforts to enhance resources and opportunities for those who serve our country.
