Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Meets With Chamber Board
Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Mark Butler addressed the Savannah Chamber board during its June meeting. Butler acknowledged Savannah’s positive economy and future growth but highlighted that the only way to succeed is with a prepared workforce. Labor market development is the department’s top priority as the commissioner stated that deficiency in soft skills training is an issue that could make or break Georgia’s workforce and must be addressed. Butler also noted that structural improvements being made within the department will also help with future success, and although employment numbers are up across the state, there is still work to be done to ensure a prosperous local and state economy.
