Governor Brian P. Kemp joined a host of state and local leaders to cut the ribbon and officially open Amazon’s newest Savannah facility, named SAV4, last Monday. This state-of-the-art 640,000-square-foot, five-story robotics fulfillment center features the latest technology in robotics and package handling, ensuring our region’s residents are able to get their orders accurately and as quickly as possible.
SAV4 has already hired more than 800 employees from our region and invested more than $250 million. The center features more than 10 miles of conveyors and more than 4,000 robotic machines.
The company also highlighted that nearly 60 percent of the millions of items at the facility are shipped from small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs.
