INFINITY, INC
Infinity, Inc. is celebrating its 20th anniversary in business with a $2,000 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating high school senior who has shown interest and proficiency in the computer sciences. Whether it’s used for college enrollment fees, trade school technical courses, or for living/traveling/experimental costs while the winner takes an unpaid internship to receive hands-on training, the Infinity anniversary scholarship is hoped to contribute to the next generation of technological advancement and discovery. Beginning with just Chuck and his brother David in 1999, Infinity has grown to 23 employees in Savannah. OATLAND ISLAND WILDLIFE CENTER
Congratulations to Oatland Island Wildlife Center on their grand re-opening on Saturday, January 12. Hundreds of members of the community turned out to visit Oatland’s animal residents for the first time since a tornado closed the part for repairs last fall. The grand re-opening celebration included food trucks, live music, open fire cooking, and live animal encounters! Bitty & Beau’s Coffee celebrated their grand opening on Saturday, January 12! Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee – it’s an experience. While the shop is run by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the customers love the products, they really come in for the unique customer service experience. BOARD & BRUSH CREATIVE STUDIO
The Savannah Board & Brush Creative Studio held its grand opening Saturday, January 12 from 1-4 p.m. with gift bags for the first 50 people in attendance, a chance to win a workshop for four valued at $260, and fun contests throughout the event. Sign-making demonstrations and free appetizers and beverages round out the festivities. The Savannah Board & Brush Studio is located in the city’s Southside district, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The studio can accommodate 36 attendees at a time, making it an ideal space for special event nights. There is a convenient, well-lit parking lot close-by, a big plus with most workshops starting at 6 p.m. Complimentary beverages will be served at every studio session. Member Discounts:
The University of South Carolina Beaufort will host a student job fair at their Bluffton campus on Tuesday, February 5 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Businesses who are actively hiring for full time positions and internships are invited to attend. Table, tablecloths, chairs and lunch will be provided. A $75 registration fee will be offered to members of the Savannah Area Chamber through January 19.
