This month, the Tybee Island Visitors Center was approved for renewal as a Georgia Regional Visitor Information Center by the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Accreditation each year requires annual educational tours of area cities to stay current on the region’s tourism destinations, training with a Georgia Welcome Center, and attending a state training conference attended by more than 100 Georgia visitor center managers.
The designation reflects Tybee Island’s dedication to providing visitors to the island current information on the state, Georgia coastal area and Savannah and Tybee Island. Congratulations to the Tybee Island Visitor Center and Liz Hood, visitor center supervisor!
