Leadership Savannah Explores Why Georgia is the Best State for Business

Leadership Savannah Class of 2022 spent a fantastic day touring several locations and learning about how Savannah plays a significant part in Georgia’s economic development.

The Leadership class obtained a lot of useful insights from several partners. Savannah Economic Development Authority CEO and President, Trip Tollison, spoke about new commerce in the Savannah area, and especially SEDA’s outstanding success in bringing in the Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차) to our region. Leadership members also witnessed the record-breaking cargo movements at Ocean Terminal at the Georgia Ports Authority. The Savannah Film Commission shared the enormous growth of the film industry in Chatham County as it recovers from the pandemic disruption. The day wrapped up at Gulfstream Aerospace with Leadership members hearing about the unique production capacity of the Savannah facility that continues to propel the company’s growth.

Leadership Savannah was happy to understand the reasons why Georgia has been selected the best state to do business for the last 8 years. Special thanks to SEDA, Georgia Ports Authority and Gulfstream, as well as Leadership Savannah board members Angela Hendrix and Mark Bennett, for shedding light on all the great economic developments in our region.
