The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Council recently hosted its inaugural Clay Shoot at Forest City Gun Club, a groundbreaking event honoring the region’s military installations and veterans. This marks a significant milestone for the council, renowned for its unwavering advocacy for local military bases and personnel.
The clay shoot drew a large turnout, including Col. Marc Austin, Garrison Commander of Fort Stewart. The event raised substantial funds to further the council’s mission of enhancing the quality of life for service members and their families in the Savannah area. The competition was fierce but friendly, with team Coca-Cola, led by the sharpshooting Jackie Williams, who scored an impressive 75/75, taking home the top prize.
Thanks to Chamber members A Taco Affair’s catering, attendees were treated to a delightful culinary experience, complemented by refreshing beverages from our members Service Brewing and Savannah Distilling Company. The post-shoot Business Connection reception fostered valuable networking opportunities between local business leaders and military representatives, further strengthening ties between the community and its armed forces.
The resounding success of this year’s event bodes well for the future. The Savannah Chamber of Commerce and Military Affairs Council eagerly anticipate hosting the Clay Shoot again next year, inviting everyone to join them for another day of camaraderie, competition, and community support.
