Savannah Hosts NAIA Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Invitational Championship

Savannah hosted the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Lacrosse Invitational Championship for men’s and women’s May 5-8, 2021. The event, held at Memorial Stadium, was organized by the Savannah Sports Council, a division of Visit Savannah and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce. Eight teams each on the men’s and women’s tournament featured teams from Georiga, Kentucky, Michigan, Kansas, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, and Iowa.

Over 1,500 people attended the tournament, and filled over 2,000 hotel rooms. The NAIA also administered over 750 COVID-19 tests to teams and coaches with zero positive results.

Special thanks are due to presenting sponsor, the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport as well as the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), which was a sponsor and provided personnel and Chatham County, which provided the venue, and who’s staff were tremendous assets.

The men’s champion was Reinhardt University of Waleska, Georgia and the women’s champion was Keiser University of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
