Savannah Welcomes Bavarian Minister of State Florian Herrmann

With economic ties between Georgia and Germany growing daily, Savannah’s political and business community joined together to host Bavarian Minister of State Florian Herrman last week.
Minister Herrman and a delegation of leaders from Germany came to our region after visiting with Georgia officials in Atlanta, including Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson and Deputy Commissioner for Film Lee Thomas.

While here, Minister Herrman met with Major General Christopher Norrie at Fort Stewart and was the guest of honor at a rooftop reception at the Perry Lane Hotel with Chatham County Commission Chair Chester Ellis, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson, and Alderman Nick Polumbo.

In his remarks, Minister Herrman talked about the importance of Georgia’s relationship with Bavaria, highlighted by the presence of the state economic development office for all of Europe, which is located in Munich.

Chairman Ellis and Mayor Johnson were both gracious in thanking our German friends for taking the time to visit Savannah during their trip to Georgia.
