Jonathan Sykes, the Savannah Sports Council’s senior events and sales manager, and Caroline Greenwood of the Savannah Convention Center attended the TEAMS Conference in Louisville, Kentucky to meet with event rights-holders about bringing their events to Savannah. They had more than 40 appointments at the Savannah Sports Council’s booth to talk about their events and Savannah as a potential destination for the future.
TEAMS is the world’s leading conference and expo for the sports-event industry. Presented by SportsTravel magazine and launched in 1998, TEAMS attracts more than 1,000 attendees including CEOs, executive directors and event managers from sports organizations as well as representatives from sports commissions and convention bureaus, corporate sponsors, event suppliers and other hospitality industry opinion leaders. Now in its 20th year, TEAMS has helped define the sports-event and appointment-based trade show industries.
