Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce VP of Governmental Affairs Jared W. Downs, and Member Relations Manager, Tara Reese, spoke to the Veterans Council at the American Legion last week. Downs touched on the Chamber’s legislative agenda for 2023, highlighted the Chamber’s efforts to preserve and expand the military assets in our area, and discussed the legislation that passed last year removing a portion of a military retiree’s retirement from state income tax.

The Veterans Council supports 29 local veteran’s groups in the Savannah area that advocates on ensuring our area veterans have access to the tools and resources needed to maintain a high quality of life in the Coastal region.
