Tormenta FC to Play in Savannah

The Statesboro-based Tormenta FC held a press conference last week, announcing one of their regular season games to be played June 27 at Calvary Day School’s Specialty Sports Complex. In the Savannah match, Tormenta is set to play the SC United Bantams.
“The Savannah Sports Council is excited that the Tormenta FC has chosen Savannah to host their June 27 match,” said Rob Wells, director of the Savannah Sports Council. “This is the second straight year the inaugural USL3 member will play in Savannah and we encourage everyone to come out to Calvary Day School to enjoy some competitive soccer.”

The South Georgia Tormenta FC is a founding member of the USL’s Pro Soccer Division 3 League that begins play in 2019 and is currently a member of the Premier Development League. The developmental leader in North American soccer’s evolving tiered structure, the PDL features 74 teams within four conferences throughout the United States and Canada. The PDL provides elite collegiate players the opportunity to taste a higher level of competition while maintaining their eligibility.
