NEWS
The Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run will be held Saturday, December 1. The 2018 race weekend will begin with the Health and Wellness Expo at the Savannah Civic Center on Friday, December 1 and end with a post-race party in Franklin Square on race day.
Each year, more than 4,000 participants run and walk the 5K, 10K and Double Pump (a 5K and 10K combined) over Savannah’s Talmadge Bridge. Participants can look forward to medals for all races, live music, free beer and Brunswick stew as part of the Michelob Ultra Post-Race Party, presented by Host South. Don your best costume and you could be one of the Costume Contest winners; first, second and third place prizes of $400, $200 and $100 respectively are awarded in both the individual and group divisions.
New for 2018: Newly added to the Bridge Run program is the Corporate Challenge, honoring the business with more employees participating than any other, in order to to encourage health and wellness within their company. You’ve still got a month left to encourage as many of your coworkers to run (or walk) the race as you can, so get going! The winning business must sign up for the Challenge on race day, so don’t forget this important step!
Also new for 2018 is the new 5K rucking division, sponsored by GoRuck.com, which will time participants carrying 10- to 20-pound rucksacks or backpacks. Finishers will receive a special patch in addition to the 5K finisher medal. You can use your own pack, or purchase one from GoRuck.com at the Friday, November 29 race expo at the Savannah Civic Center.
A portion of race proceeds benefit Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion at St. Joseph’s/Candler.
