Emily McCarthy Launches a New Flagship Store in Savannah.
Local fashion and lifestyle designer Emily McCarthy celebrated the grand opening of her new headquarters and flagship store on Thursday, August 8th. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with McCarthy, her family, and local business and community leaders, including the Savannah Chamber President & CEO Bert Brantley and Chamber of Commerce board members. McCarthy’s designs, known for vibrant colors and prints, have found a new home in the heart of Savannah. The new 14,000-square-foot space, designed to foster connection and inspiration, houses the Emily McCarthy boutique, a wine bar, an outdoor patio lounge, offices, and a fulfillment center. The grand opening marked a significant milestone for the brand, which has built a loyal following for its stylish and confident apparel. The Emily McCarthy brand believes in empowering women of all generations to radiate confidence through vibrant colors and prints. Emily McCarthy’s designs are fashioned to invite joy, inspire creativity, and foster a community where everyone feels empowered to express their signature style.
Wexford – Savannah’s Irish Pub Opens its Doors in Historic City Market
Wexford – Savannah’s Irish Pub celebrated its grand opening on Friday, August 9th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its historic downtown location in City Market. Founders Jennifer and Tim Strickland welcomed Mayor Van Johnson, Savannah Chamber President Bert Brantley, and other local dignitaries to the event. The Stricklands cut the ribbon with industry partners local business leaders, and community members in attendance. Savannah’s newest and most unique Irish pub was inspired by and named after County Wexford, Ireland, where more than half of Georgia’s Irish emigrants traveled here from in the mid-1800s during the potato famine. In fact, most of the interior was crafted and shipped over from Ireland and assembled in Savannah. In addition to the authenticity, the soul of the new pub is its culinary offerings and beverage menu. Delicious Irish meals accented by an eclectic beer and whiskey collection; live Irish music combined with sincere hospitality promise to make Wexford Pub a new jewel in the crown of Savannah’s most beloved restaurants. Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) of Atlanta will officially launch our second location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM at our new FODAC facility at 7220 Sallie Mood Dr., Savannah, GA. The Savannah location will partner with the Goodwill of Southeast Georgia and will enhance FODAC’s ability to collect gently used home medical equipment (HME). The HME items will be collected from the public at all 17 Goodwill retail stores around the coastal area, including wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and all types of mobility aids and assistive technology needed by people with injuries, illnesses or disabilities to remain independent and active in their communities. Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) of Atlanta, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities, is a nationally recognized leader in medical reuse equipment and the largest organization of its kind in the world.
