Recruitment for the city of Savannah’s annual Summer 500 student intern program is now underway!
Mayor Eddie DeLoach welcomed over 80 employers during their annual business kickoff event on Tuesday, February 26 at the DeSoto Savannah.
The city announced that over 800 students have already signed up for the program and summer jobs of all industries are needed.
Local businesses have historically shown great support for the program and the city is once again seeking involvement from area businesses to provide hands-on summer work opportunities for high school students. The program will begin with a week of career skills training on June 3 followed by 8 weeks of employment.
Summer500 has generated a number of successful returns including students who have maintained employment beyond the summer program. With workforce development being identified as a top priority for the Savannah Chamber and many others, we believe this is an investment in our future workforce that will have an impact for years to come. We hope you will join us to help continue its success.
