Change of Command at Fort Stewart

The Savannah Area Chamber would like to welcome to the community Maj. Gen. Leopoldo Quintas, who became the 86th Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division on Monday, May 8.
Before coming to Fort Stewart, Maj. Gen. Quintas served as a deputy chief of staff at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was promoted to replace Maj. Gen. Jim Rainey, who is leaving Georgia for a new assignment at the Pentagon.

Also participating in the ceremony was former 3rd ID Commander, Gen. Robert Abrams, who now serves as head of U.S. Army Forces Command. Our community works to maintain relationships with many of our service members after they have moved on and we are fortunate to have had a large number return to visit over the years. This is one way we are able to help preserve the military value in our area.

We congratulate Maj. Gen. Quintas on his appointment and wish him the best during his time at Fort Stewart.
