Johnson Matthey Celebrates New ACE Lab in Savannah
Johnson Matthey Process Technologies celebrated the opening of its new Advanced Cracking Evaluation (ACE) Lab with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, February 25th. The event, attended by inventor John Kayser, Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bert Brantley, and Pooler Mayor Karen Williams, marked the acquisition of new ACE units and Kayser Technology equipment. This investment strengthens Johnson Matthey’s research and development capabilities in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) additives, enhancing product performance and reducing emissions. The Chamber congratulates Johnson Matthey on their commitment to innovation and contribution to Savannah’s growing reputation as a center for research and technology.

Springhill Suites by Marriott Celebrates Renovation with Prohibition Flair
Springhill Suites by Marriott Savannah Historic District celebrated its recent renovation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a prohibition-themed party on Wednesday, February 26th. Guests enjoyed live music, prohibition-style cocktails, and exclusive tours showcasing the hotel’s refreshed design and upgraded amenities. The event began a new chapter for Springhill Suites, offering enhanced guest experiences in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. The Chamber congratulates Springhill Suites on their successful renovation and celebration.

Savannah Celtic Tour Launches with Ribbon Cutting
Midnight Mist celebrated the launch of its new Savannah Celtic Tour with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, February 28th, at the Celtic Cross Monument in Emmet Park. The tour, launched on March 1st (St. David’s Day), explores Savannah’s history through the lens of Irish, Scottish, and Welsh immigrants. Brigid, Tanaya, and Dylan, each with Celtic ancestry, bring unique perspectives to the experience. The Savannah Celtic Tour runs daily, rain or shine, and begins at the Celtic Cross and concludes in Ellis Square. The Chamber congratulates Midnight Mist on the launch of this insightful and engaging tour.

Ghost Scouts by The Witching Hour Ghost Tour

The Witching Hour Ghost Tour is proud to announce the launch of their new daytime tour – Ghost Scouts! This daytime child and family-friendly ghost tour of the historic district will bring history alive through the lens of the ghosts that reputedly haunt our city. Families can join our Ghost Scout Leader for a walking tour through the shady and spooky squares as the children learn about the history and ghosts whilst solving riddles and clues to earn virtual patches. Once they complete the tour, each child will earn their own Ghost Scouts Patch! The Witching Hour team devised the tour after regular feedback from guests who brought children, school groups, and scouts on their tours and praised the guides for how well they brought history and science alive whilst imparting accurate historical knowledge and scientific research. They are also developing further educational content on the Ghost Scouts website, including access to accurate historical and scientific subject areas regarding our haunted heritage. These include The Great American Ghost Tour, Great British Ghost Tour, and Ghostology 101. Tours will run throughout the day at 11 am, 2 pm, 4 pm and 6 pm. Private group bookings are also welcome. SIP: A Ceramic Cup Show 10th Anniversary

The Savannah Clay Community invites you to cut the ceremonial red ribbon with us at the opening reception of SIP: A Ceramic Cup Show on Friday, April 11th from 6 PM – 8 PM. SIP 2025 is the 10th Anniversary of our annual national exhibition featuring around 200 functional ceramic cups, mugs, yunomi, and more from clay artists across the country. It shows the diversity of drinking vessels as an art form and allows visitors to become owners of hand-crafted ceramics. All cup sales benefit each artist, and a percentage of proceeds will be donated to CERF+ to help craft artists affected by natural disasters rebuild. The Savannah Clay Community is an organization formed to build strength and support for all ceramicists within Savannah by encouraging the promotion, growth, and education of the ceramic arts. We recognize and aid the development of emerging and established ceramicists in Savannah and encourage the local creative economy to give artists more opportunities to earn income from their artwork.
