JDOG JUNK REMOVAL

JDog Junk Removal Low Country will celebrate its Savannah grand opening with a fundraiser at Service Brewing on June 12 to support the Nine Line Foundation, an organization dedicated to meeting the financial and specialized needs of severely injured soldiers and their families. The event is free to attend but donations to the Nine Line Foundation are encouraged.

JDog Junk Removal Lowcountry is an American-owned, veteran-operated junk removal franchise now serving the Savannah community. JDog Junk Removal’s mission is to empower veterans through entrepreneurship. The company hires veterans and military family members, and serves the Savannah community the same way it served our country–with respect, integrity, and trust. JDog Junk Removal recycles, reprocesses, and repurposes 80 percent of the items it collects, reducing the environmental impact of this “junk.”

COOL SAVANNAH TOURS & GIFTS

Cool Savannah Tours & Gifts is hosting a grand re-opening celebration and book signing with author Rick Garman to benefit Historic Savannah Foundation. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 12 from 5:30–7 p.m. at 42 East Bay Street. Author Rick Garman will be at the event signing copies of his latest novel, Interitas Volume 2: False Prophets. Mr. Garman will also personally match all donations made to the Historic Savannah Foundation at this event with a donation to the onePULSE Foundation. Guests will enjoy amazing appetizers by Skeeter’s Southern BBQ, wine tasting, and sensational door prizes.

SALT ISLAND FISH & BEER

Salt Island Fish & Beer, a new restaurant on Tybee Island, will hold their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 21 at 4:30 p.m. As the newest addition to the food scene on Tybee Island, Salt Island Fish & Beer is striving to be different by adopting a “craft” approach to its entire menu. The restaurant will offer craft beers from local breweries and has carefully crafted its cocktail menu. This idea of “craft” goes into the kitchen as well, making sure to offer food that is fresh and made from scratch. Salt Island Fish & Beer is all about loving what you do, taking pride in what you serve, all while having fun while doing it. To celebrate the grand opening, Salt Island Fish & Beer is partnering with Coastal Empire Beer Co. for a special menu!

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MIGHTY EIGHTH AIR FORCE

Congratulations to The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, who have once again been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2018.

In order to receive the award, an attraction must maintain an average of 4 out of 5 “bubbles” from visitor-reviewers. With this accolade, the museum is now in the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame, having received the Certificate of Excellence every year since 2012. Congratulations to The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, and thanks for being such an asset to our community!

 

OLD TOWN TROLLEY TOURS

Congratulations to Old Town Trolley Tours on their 25th anniversary in Savannah! Old Town Trolley Tours hosted its silver anniversary celebration to benefit the Massie Heritage Center last week at the Old Town Trolley Office. The anniversary reception featured cocktails from Congress Street Up, appetizers by local chefs, gift bags for the first 100 attendees, a photobooth, and amazing door prizes.

Old Town Trolley Tours is a Savannah icon: its orange and green cars comprise the largest trolley fleet in the city, and locals recently voted it Connect Savannah’s 2018 Best Local Tour Company. Congratulations to Old Town Trolley on their milestone anniversary!

 

SAVANNAH TOURS AND TALES
Join Savannah Tours and Tales officially cut the ribbon last Friday, June 8 at Emmet Park. Sharing the local history of the Irish, Native Americans and Gullah-Geechees, owner and tour guide KT O’Brien is a sixth generation local Savannahian who is excited to reveal these tales. From Tomochichi to Kehoe to Queen Quet, KT has much to tell! Join us in congratulating Savannah Tours & Tales on its official grand openings!

Mr. Handyman of Greater Savannah officially opened its doors this week! Mr. Handyman is a home improvement, home repair and maintenance company.
