NEWS
As a small business, options for small group healthcare can often be cost prohibitive. But new resources are becoming available, offering more opportunities for small business owners and employees to get covered! Access to these health coverage opportunities is an outstanding new benefit to your Chamber membership, so take advantage!
The Georgia Chamber SMART Plan: This month, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce launched its SMART Plan, a new comprehensive health program offered to small businesses providing a cost savings on health coverage options. Since the Savannah Area Chamber is a member of the Georgia Chamber, our members have access to this program! Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will administer the plan, allowing smaller employers to join together to share in the overall claims risk. By being part of a larger, self-funded pool, empoyers have the financial protection backed by Anthem to allow members of the Georgia Chamber and its member chambers with between 2 and 50 employees to participate.

Other Options for Small Businesses: Other healthcare options are offered via the Health & Business Alliance program. Since each business has its own set of needs, your program offers everything from basic group plans to comprehensive plans to the only legal way for employers to pay for individual coverage tax-free. The main point of your program is that you offer large-group type solutions for smaller businesses and your solutions extend even to those who do not currently offer benefits. Small businesses have options to save money just like big companies.
