Summer 500 Program Kicks off Second Year

After months of planning and collaboration between the city, county, school system, area businesses and a number of other community partners, the city of Savannah’s Summer 500 student intern program is now underway after a successful kickoff at the Savannah Arts Academy on June 1.
With more than 320 high school students in paid internships, the Savannah business community has invested nearly $1 million into the program that will provide students with an opportunity to gain hands-on work experiences and life skill training.

The Chamber would like to thank all business and community partners who have made a significant contribution to this important initiative. Your investment in this program is a testament to the interest in strengthening our future workforce and will ultimately ensure students are equipped to succeed in a competitive job market.
