The Webb Military Museum and River Street Sweets Greet Visitors at the MLK Visitor Center

Last week, Gary Webb of the Webb Military Museum took the opportunity to display a bit of military history at Savannah’s main Visitor Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The Webb Military Museum at 411 East York Street is one of Savannah’s lesser-known gems. The museum has an extensive collection of military memorabilia spanning from the Civil War to the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The main Visitor Center also hosted River Street Sweets for a chance to introduce their producst to new arrivals. Joanne McMillan dropped by to pass out some delicious Southern confections and lure folks down to the shop on the River for more goodies.

The Visitor Center has hosted representatives from lodging, retail, restaurants and museums to showcase their product or service to people just arriving in town and wondering where to go and what to do. It’s a marketing opportunity that’s free to members. Just contact John Reed at (jreed@visitsavannah.com or 912. 661.6454) or Mava Byrd (mbyrd@visitsavannah.com or 912.944.0440) for information or to reserve a day and time.
