More than 15,000 runners ran through Savannah last weekend during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon 2017, the seventh time the event has come to town. Race weekend began with the Health & Fitness Expo Thursday and Friday at the International Trade & Convention Center, where participants collected their race bibs and shopped official merchandise and vendor stations. The Savannah Sports Council was exhibiting at the Expo with a booth set up to register guests to return in April for the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K. The weekend continued with the marathon, half marathon and two-person half marathon relay events beginning early on Saturday morning, followed by a post-race party at Forsyth Park. the 5K and 1-mile races took place Sunday afternoon.
