Last week, Global Traveler Executive Carrie Cox visited our Savannah office to hand-deliver two prestigious awards. Savannah was recognized as Global Traveler’s 2023 Leisure Lifestyle Award for “Best Weekend Destination in North America” for a fourth consecutive year and the “Best Historical Attraction in North America” for a second consecutive year!

“Being named Best Weekend Destination in North America means the world to us as Savannah is extremely popular with visitors from all over the world, often for 4-5 day weekend visits. Plus, the additional distinction of Best Historical Attraction as well, just adds that much more interest and excitement,” says Joseph Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah. “We are grateful to the readers of Global Traveler Magazine for their enthusiasm for Savannah.”

Global Traveler surveyed its readers with open-ended questions for the best in leisure, luxury, and lifestyle travel categories. The survey ran in the magazine as an insert to subscriber copies, as a direct mail questionnaire, online on their website, and through emails during the survey period. Employees and associates of the magazine did not participate in the survey, so it is 100% audience voted.
