Governor’s Tourism Conference Brings 550 Professionals to Savannah

Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee hosted this year’s Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference, which attracted its largest attendance on record. Nearly 550 tourism professionals from around the state attended the three-day conference that began with an “Opening Reception Like No Other” on the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion. The rest of the sessions were held at the Hyatt Regency. Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal presented Visit Savannah with the Paul Broun Award, the state’s highest award for a tourism marketing initiative. In past years, Visit Savannah also has been recognized with the Larry Allen Tourism Leadership Award, the Al Burris Award for Creative Expression and has shared the Partnership Champion Award with the Savannah Tourism Leadership Council.
