Mayor DeLoach Honors National Travel & Tourism Week in Savannah
Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach named May 7-13 Tourism Week in Savannah in conjunction with the U.S. Travel Association’s National Travel & Tourism Week. More than 100 members of the hospitality community attended the May 10 Savannah City Council Meeting to bring awareness to the impact tourism has on the local economy, and Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli addressed the City Council and assembled attendees. Tourism in Savannah represents $3 billion in economic impact and more than 27,000 area jobs.
