Attendees at November’s Visit Savannah Tour & Travel meeting had the opportunity to learn about one of the religious foundations of our community, Congregation Mickve Israel. The congregation is the third-oldest Jewish congregation in the United States, and houses what’s believed to be the oldest Torahs in existence in America, dating back to the 1400s. As the group learned, the synagogue gives daily docent-lead tours of the sanctuary as well as the museum.

The next Tour & Travel meeting will be a holiday social on Tuesday November 17 at The 5 Spot on Broughton Street from 5-7 p.m. All hospitality members are invited to join us!
