Last week, the Travel South International Showcase, the South’s premier tourism marketplace, brought together over 450 delegates from 18 countries for three intensive meetings in Atlanta. The event focused on attracting more visitors to the South, encouraging longer stays, and boosting economic impact in the region.
Savannah was well-represented at the showcase, with five partners participating:
– Image Hotels
– Best Western Historic District
– Savannah Riverboat Cruises
– National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force
– Old Town Trolley Tours
Visit Savannah made a memorable impression with an activation at the opening event held at the Georgia Aquarium. The Savannah lounge, designed as a southern-style retreat, featured a charming pergola with park benches, lush greenery, rocking chairs, and the iconic Bird Girl statue as its centerpiece, perfectly capturing the essence of Savannah’s charm.
Following the event, Visit Savannah’s Mindy hosted 12 international tour operators for a weekend in Savannah. The group experienced the city’s vibrant holiday festivities, enjoyed its culinary delights, and had a blast making pralines at Chef Darin’s Kitchen. The visit showcased Savannah’s unique appeal and left a lasting impression on the attendees.
Thank you to all the Savannah partners who helped make this showcase successful, highlighting our city as a must-visit destination for international travelers!
