Savannah Named No. 4 U.S. Small City by Condé Nast Traveler Readers

Condé Nast Traveler yesterday announced the winners of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards, ranking the best hotels, resorts, destination spas, countries, cities, islands, trains, airlines, airports, and cruise lines in the world. Savannah once again found itself in the top five of the travel publication’s Top U.S. Small Cities, this year taking the No. 4 spot, vying for position with other regional destinations Key West, Florida, and Alexandria, Virginia. The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport also took top honors as the No. 2 Best Airport in the U.S., and the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa landed a spot on the list of the Top 20 Resorts in the South.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running recognition of excellence in the travel industry, and one of the most prestigious.

In its first year as one global brand, Condé Nast Traveler combined the annual surveys in the U.S. and U.K. into one global Readers’ Choice Awards list. Collectively, they received a recording-breaking number of responses from more than 600,000 readers who rated their travel experiences to provide a full snapshot of where and how readers are traveling today.
