Savannah was recognized by the readers of Georgia Golf & Travel as their “Favorite City to Visit in Georgia,” and the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa ranked as their “Favorite Resort” in 2018.
“This type of recognition goes a long way to certifying that Savannah is an outstanding and popular golf destination in this part of the country,” says Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli. “That along with the general popularity of Savannah as a preferred tourism destination helps to position us for visitation from around the region and introduce us to new markets such as the northeast and even in Canada.”

Visitors from Toronto can fly a non-stop Air Canada route to Savannah during warmer months of the year, and hopes are high that the service will be expanded to include the flight year-round. The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport also currently has airlift service to such major northeastern cities as Boston, New York (all three area airports), Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
