Recently, Liz Hood, Tybee Visitor Center supervisor, and Mava Byrd, director of Savannah’s Visitor Information Centers, joined regional visitor center managers for an educational tour of the town of Darien. The group watched (and sampled) chocolates being created at Sugar Marsh Cottage, learned about printmaking at Ashantilly Print Shop, toured three local bed and breakfasts, and enjoyed fresh shrimp and a view at Skipper’s Restaurant. The quarterly tours of sister center communities keep Georgia’s coastal region top-of-mind for visitor centers in the Savannah region.
