Southern Living Magazine announced last week that its readers voted Tybee Island one of 2017’s “South’s Best Islands.” Tybee was chosen for its laid back vibe and bike friendly roads. Tybee Island secured the number 10 spot on the list among the company of North Carolina’s Outer Banks, St. Simon’s Island, the Florida Keys, Hilton Head Island, Chincoteague (Virginia), Kiawah Island, Jekyll Island, Sanibel Island, and Galveston (Texas).
Other area accolades received in Southern Living’s 2017 “South’s Best” awards include Savannah (No. 2, “South’s Best Cities”), The Grey (No. 2, “South’s Best Restaurant”), The Mansion on Forsyth Park (No. 6, “South’s Best Hotel”), The Foley House (No. 1, “South’s Best Inn”), The Paris Market (No. 1, “South’s Best Shops”) and Shop SCAD (No. 4, “South’s Best Shops”).
