The Savannah Sports Council‘s December advisory board meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce offices Tuesday, December 12. At the final meeting of the year, Sports Council director Rob Wells presented board chair Trip Kennickell with a token of the Council’s appreciation for his service in 2017. Wells also presented the board with opportunities for new sports events to host in Savannah before events manager Jonathan Sykes reported on events having taken place since the previous meeting and upcoming planned events. The board engaged in open discussion regarding the upcoming Savannah Tire Hockey Classic January 12 and 13, and the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K on April 7. The next advisory board meeting is scheduled for February 6.
