Sports Council Hosts May Advisory Board Meeting
The Savannah Sports Council held its May advisory board meeting last week. One of the main topics at the meeting was the addition of the NAIA events that the Sports Council is looking forward to hosting in coming years. Savannah has been selected as host city for the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse National Championships for 2020 and 2021, and will also serve as the host city for the NAIA Football Senior Showcase in 2019 and 2020. The board also discussed the success of the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K, current bids, and staff travel over the last month.
