Liz Hood and Mava Byrd of the Tybee and Savannah Visitor Centers attended the Georgia Regional Visitor Information Center Conference last week in Statesboro, along with 95 other state and local visitor center managers from across Georgia. The location of the annual conference rotates, giving managers the opportunity to learn about a different host city each year and stay up to date on tourism trends by attending three days of classes. Attendance at the conference is required by the state in order to maintain certification as an official regional visitor information center.
