With the cancellation of most in-person conferences and trade shows, DMOs have had to pivot the way they do things, including the professionals on the Visit Savannah sales team. Jeff Hewitt, Larry Browder, and Kellie Linder of Visit Savannah along with Angela Daniels and Paul Gomez of the Savannah Convention Center exhibited in its first-ever virtual trade show with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The show attracted a record number of attendees and more than 1,000 meeting planners visited the Savannah virtual booth from the comfort of their homes and offices. The Savannah team saw 100+ downloads of materials from the virtual booth and held face-to-face zoom calls with interested planners. The team was able to capture information on those who entered the booth looking for information on holding their next meeting or convention in Savannah.
