Earlier this month, Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee’s group tour team met with 16 different tour operators traveling from various areas such as New York, Orlando, and North Carolina. Over the course of a three-day familiarization tour, the operators were given the opportunity to experience all that Savannah has to offer for future tour groups.
The FAM tour began with a vendor showcase providing the chance for community partners to promote their business/services and how they can work with tour groups aboard Savannah Riverboat Cruises’ Georgia Queen. After the showcase, operators were able to enjoy the wonderful Gospel Dinner Cruise. For the next two days, activities included trolley tours, a salt scrub-making class, museum tours, ghost walks and dolphin tours! While in town, the group enjoyed local cuisine from The Pirate’s House, Vic’s on the River, and The Crab Shack to name a few, the concluded their Savannah showcase with a sunset dinner at Hotel Tybee.
