Visit Savannah Assists Area Businesses With Securing Film Prospects
Visit Savannah staffers, Joseph Marinelli and Chelsea Paulsen, joined forces with representatives from SEDA and the City of Savannah to meet with lodging partners from the airport area, Midtown and Southside regarding how best to attract movie and television production crews. As the Savannah area begins to attract more movie and TV projects, there is a growing need for more discounted hotel/motel/vacation rental rooms with long-term stays. The sessions were designed to inform attendees about what production companies are looking for when considering producing future projects in our area. The recent Magic Mike XXL movie shoot is estimated to have generated approximately $27 million in economic impact during its 26 shooting days in Savannah.
