Members of the Visit Savannah and Chamber team attended a special Girl Scout Alumnae Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency with the CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA Sylvia Acevedo last week as part of the Girl Scouts’ QuestFest activities. Prior to becoming CEO, Acevedo served as interim CEO and on the Girl Scouts of the USA’s board of directors. A systems engineer by education, she has worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she was involved in Voyager 2’s flyby of Jupiter in 1979. She has also worked as an executive at Apple, Dell, and Autodesk. Acevedo is pictured with Finance Coordinator Madeline Albritton (left) and Group Tour & Entertainment Sales Manager Anjuli Derien (right). Kim Webster, sales director at Visit Tybee, and Visit Savannah’s Senior Vice President Jeff Hewitt, who serves on the board of directors of the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, were also in attendance at the luncheon.
