Visit Savannah Opens a New Visitor Information Center at City Market

Last week, Visit Savannah held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest Visitor Information Center located in the atrium inside the City Market.

Staff from Visit Savannah and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, along with media and onlookers gathered to celebrate this happy occasion. Cutting the ribbon were First Impression Specialists from the main Visitor Information Center, Chamber Ambassadors, Visit Savannah Chairman Corey Jones, and Assistant Director of the City Market, Kimberly Phillips.

Guests were treated with cupcakes made by the newly opened Visitor Information Center’s very own First Impression Specialist, Jack Helgeson!

As many destination marketing organizations around the country are closing or scaling back on Visitor Centers, Visit Savannah is adding more, encouraged by the increased visitation each year. “We are pleased to now be able to provide visitor information to the tens of thousands of visitors to the City Market area each year,” says Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli. “We are always looking for more ways to ensure that the growing number of visitors to our community have the best possible visitor experience.

With the addition of the City Market’s Visitor Information Center, Visit Savannah will now have five total VIC locations. The other four include the VIC on River Street, Tybee Island, I-95 Welcome Center, and the main VIC at the corner of MLK blvd and Louisville Rd.
