Lauren Cleland and Summer Bozeman, Visit Savannah’s digital content strategist and communications coordinator, traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, last week to attend the 2017 Women in Travel Summit, hosted by the Wanderful network. At the summit, they met with travel bloggers and social media influencers from across the country to discuss potential partnerships on future visits, and sponsored an informational session and a networking hour. They also had the opportunity to meet with influencers and writers both in small group settings and in one-on-one meetings, and provided a “selfie spot” at their booth, where attendees were encouraged to take a selfie at “Forsyth Park” and share the image with the #VisitSavannah hashtag. Attendees were treated to flavored lip balms from the Savannah Bee Company and pralines from Savannah’s Candy Kitchen, as well as a short video presentation on Savannah on the summit’s final day.
