Last week, members of the Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee teams were in attendance at the Coastal Georgia Tourism Conference at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens.
The conference brought together business owners, tourism officials, government representatives, and community organizations interested in learning about our state’s coastal tourism industry. Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to network with other professionals while learning about current trends, issues impacting the industry and sustainable tourism practices designed to strengthen tourism in the region.
Georgia’s tourism industry drives significant growth and prosperity for its local communities, generating more than $60 billion in economic impact. The workshop, hosted by Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, is designed to build a collaborative community of professionals focused on propelling the coastal tourism industry forward to provide jobs and support local economies.
Visit Savannah’s board chair Dave Legasse was also a featured speaker at the conference. Pictured above are Anjuli Derien and Lauren Cleland from Visit Savannah, and Kim Webster from Visit Tybee. Sara Lane of Visit Tybee and Erica Backus of Visit Savannah were also in attendance.
