International visitation was the focus as Visit Savannah’s Mindy Shea, director of tour, travel & international sales, attended two major travel industry trade shows last week. The first was the Visit USA Italy Showcase, where Shea teamed up with Georgia’s international sales director to meet with nearly 150 tour operators and travel agents. This was followed by ITB in Berlin, Germany, the world’s largest travel trade show. With 10,000 exhibitors and 115,000 buyers, the Georgia team had a full schedule of appointments with key tour operators, working with them on suggested itineraries for their visitors, as well as marketing campaigns to increase visibility in one of the most important international markets for Savannah.
