Visitor Centers Assist Florence Evacuees
This past week, Savannah’s visitor centers assisted many people who evacuated from Myrtle Beach and North Carolina as Hurricane Florence approached. Pictured is Kristi Miller with pups Pepper and Ginger who turned to Savannah before weather got bad in Myrtle Beach. Visitor center staff reported that all evacuees they spoke to said they were happy to be in a safe place, and expressed how very friendly they found everyone in Savannah to be.
